Organizing a Technical Meeting on the Debt-for-Climate Action Swap Program and Sustainable Development Goals in Mauritania
The Ministry of Finance hosted a meeting this morning, Monday, in Nouakchott for the technical committee responsible for preparing the Debt-for-Climate Action Swap Program and the Sustainable Development Goals in Mauritania, within the framework of ongoing cooperation between the Mauritanian government and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA).
The ESCWA mission to Nouakchott represents a key milestone in the process of formulating this program, which aims to reconcile the requirements of public debt sustainability with the financing of priority projects in the areas of climate action and sustainable development, amid the growing challenges associated with the impacts of climate change and economic and social pressures.
