Economic Affairs Minister Discusses Ways To Strengthen Cooperation With ADFD Director

On 5 February, in Dubai, Mr. Abdallahi Ould Souleimane Ould Cheikh Sidiya, Minister of Economic Affairs and Development, held extensive talks with H.E. Mr. Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), on the sidelines of the World Government Summit in Dubai.

The meeting reviewed the portfolio of development projects financed by the Fund in Mauritania, with both sides discussing mechanisms to accelerate the implementation of vital projects that could directly improve the citizens’ living conditions.

During the meeting, the Minister praised the ADFD’s pioneering role as a partner in supporting the development vision of His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, which is being implemented by the government of His Excellency the Prime Minister, Mokhtar Ould Djay. He noted that these interventions constitute an important lever for supporting development in our country.

The discussions focused on leading models from the sectors financed by the ADFD, foremost among which are the water and renewable energy sectors and the marine fisheries sector.

For his part, Mr. Al Suwaidi affirmed the ADFD’s commitment to continuing to keep pace with the development renaissance witnessed by Mauritania, expressing his institution’s readiness to support the process of promoting sustainable economic growth in Mauritania.
