On Tuesday, the Africa Eco Race arrived in the Lamaadhir area of the municipality of Ain Ehl Tayaa the province of Atar, as part of its second stop in Mauritania.
More than 360 participants representing different nationalities and more than 80 support and organisation vehicles are competing in this race.
In a statement to the Mauritanian News Agency, the mayor of Ain Ehl Tayaa, Mr. Ali Mohamed Sheinoun, expressed his satisfaction with the rally camping in his municipality, noting that the Adrar region is a tourist destination due to its unique natural landscape, where mountains, sand dunes, palm oases and valleys come together in harmony, enhanced by the generosity and openness of the local community.
The mayor expressed his sincere thanks to His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, for his support for national tourism, calling on the population to welcome guests and to comply with the values, customs and traditions of the community, which are rooted in generosity, hospitality and good treatment.
