President of the Republic presides over the 2025 Chinguetti Awards Ceremony

On December 29, 2025- MNA – His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, presided today, Monday, at the International Conference Center ‘Moktar Ould Daddah’, over the 2025 Chinguetti Awards ceremony.

This award, which the Chinqit Prize Council is accustomed to presenting annually, aims to foster a spirit of positive competition and to stimulate the talents of creative individuals in various scientific fields, contributing to the formation of scientific hubs and the building of diverse knowledge and cultural structures, with the goal of creating a nurturing scientific environment from which generations can draw research habits and innovative traits.

This award, which was granted for the first time in 2001 and consists of a certificate of appreciation and a monetary grant of five million old ouguiya for each branch of the award, has served as a mechanism to reward national and foreign researchers who have contributed to deepening research in the fields of Islamic, scientific, and literary studies and advancing them.

The Mauritanian Chinguetti Awards ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister, Mr. Mokhtar Ould Diay, the President of the Constitutional Council, the leader of the Democratic Opposition Movement, the Minister and Secretary-General of the Presidency, the Minister in charge of the Office of the President, the two Ministers-Counsels at the Presidency, members of the government, the President and members of the Chinguetti Award Council, the Governor of Nouakchott West, the President of the Nouakchott Region, the Mayor of Tevragh Zeina Municipality, military and security leaders, members of the diplomatic corps, and a number of intellectuals and cultural figures.
