President of Republic Condoles Libyan Presidential Council President

On 24 December, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, sent the following message of condolence to His Excellency Dr. Mohamed al-Menfi, President of the Presidential Council of the brotherly State of Libya, following the death of the Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army and his companions in a plane crash:

“Mr. President of the Council,

It is with deep sadness and emotion that I learned of the death of the Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army, General Mohamed Ali Ahmed al-Haddad, and his companions, following the crash of the plane carrying them in a tragic accident that has left a deep sorrow in our hearts.

In expressing my sincere condolences and deep sympathy to you, and through you to the brotherly Libyan government and people, as well as to the families of the deceased and his companions, I pray to Almighty Allah to grant the deceased and his companions His vast mercy, to admit them into His vast paradise, and to inspire their families and loved ones with patience and consolation. To Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return.
