The Director of the Islamic Development Bank’s Regional Office in Rabat stated that the newly launched project will significantly improve access to drinking water for hundreds of thousands of people in two regions of Mauritania, helping reduce disparities, enhance living conditions, and create sustainable job opportunities.
He noted that the project aligns with the national water strategy and the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 6 on universal access to water, while addressing climate and demographic challenges.
He described the project as a major milestone for the water sector, praising the leadership of His Excellency the President of the Republic,Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani.
