The Regional Director, West and Central Africa-Public Sector Operations at the OPEC Fund for International Development, Mr. Mahmoud Khene, extended his sincere congratulations to the Mauritanian authorities on the occasion of the launch of the project to supply the city of Kiffa and a number of neighboring towns and villages with potable water, which is crucial for development.
He stated that the Fund has been working since 1976 to support development efforts in Mauritania, pointing to the signing of a partnership framework and the organization of a roundtable that resulted in mobilizing significant funding in favor of Mauritania.
He highlighted the importance of this project in achieving substantial developmental benefits in several vital areas, given its positive impact on improving the economic and social conditions of the population, affirming the Fund’s determination to continue strengthening cooperation and supporting sustainable development efforts in the country.
