President of Republic congratulates his Palestinian counterpart

The President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, sent a congratulatory message today, Friday, to His Excellency Mr. Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen, President of the Palestinian State, on the occasion of the commemoration of the declaration of the Palestinian State.

The text of the message is as follows:

“Your Excellency and dear brother,

On the occasion of the commemoration of the declaration of the Palestinian State, I am pleased to express to Your Excellency, on behalf of myself and the Mauritanian people, my warmest congratulations and sincere condolences for the victims of the horrific massacres committed daily against defenseless citizens in Gaza and the West Bank. I hope that the current fragile ceasefire agreement will lead to a roadmap for peace for the Palestinian people, heralding the establishment of their independent state.

I also reiterate our commitment to continuing efforts to strengthen and develop the existing cooperation relations between our two countries in the interests of our two brotherly peoples.
