The Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Mr. Mohamed Ould Khaled, participated today, Thursday, in the 27th Ministerial Meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), held in Doha, the Qatari capital.
During the opening session, speeches were delivered by the ministers of the participating countries, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the Forum’s position and the need to develop natural gas projects and enhance their role in the global energy market.
In his speech before the Forum, the Minister affirmed the importance of gas as a vital commodity and a strategic transitional energy source upon which the world increasingly relies for its energy supply.
He added, “Since joining the Forum in 2023 as an Observer Member, Mauritania has been committed to working with Member States to strengthen ties, mutual support, and solidarity on common issues, and to support the Forum’s position as a comprehensive framework for Member States.”
On the sidelines of the conference, His Excellency the Minister, along with the ministers of the participating countries, met with His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
