The governor of Trarza, Mr. Ahmedou Ould Siid Abba, oversaw the launch of the National Week for Culture and Arts last night, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Arts, Communication, and Relations with Parliament.The activities of this event included cultural and artistic activities, heritage presentations, competitions, and an exhibition of local products.
The Governor of Trarza, Mr. Ahmedou Ould Siid Abba, highlighted in his speech on the occasion the great care that His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, gives to the sectors of culture, arts, communication, relations with Parliament, and tourism, realizing what a strong support these sectors represent for preserving national identity, enhancing social unity, and driving sustainable economic development.He clarified that the Trarza region is hosting this national event today to showcase the cultural diversity of our community and to encourage creativity and young talents, as well as to promote our exceptional tourist capabilities.
He expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to the sector of culture, arts, communication, and relations with parliament for organizing this week, and for the efforts it exerts to elevate cultural and artistic activities at the national level. For his part, the mayor of Rosso, Mr. Bembé Ould Dermaan, explained that organizing the festival comes in response to the call of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, to support national tourism, wishing success to those in charge of the event.
For her part, the regional director of the Ministry of Culture, Arts, Communication, and Relations with Parliament, Ms. Amna Mint Aali Bab, stated that the festival in its third edition is an opportunity for meeting, exchanging experiences, and showcasing the rich heritage of the region that reflects the culture and authenticity of the country.The opening night of the festival featured devotional performances, theatrical sketches, and segments celebrating local art that garnered the admiration of the audience.The event was attended by the governor of Rosso, Mr. Makheetrat Ould Mohamed Fall, along with security leaders, several heads of regional departments, and a large audience.
