Economy and Fisheries Ministers hold talks with Deputy Head of Japan International Cooperation Agency
The Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Sid’ Ahmed Ould Bouh, the Minister of Fisheries, Maritime Infrastructure and Ports, Mr. Fadhil Ould Sidati Ould Ahmed Louly, held talks today, Thursday, in Tokyo with the Deputy Director-General of the Japan International Cooperation Agency, Mr. Ando Naoki.
The meeting focused on ways to strengthen and develop cooperation in the field of development and open up broader prospects for partnership.
The meeting comes in the context of Mauritania’s qualification, for the first time, for concessional financing from the Japan International Cooperation Agency, which represents a qualitative shift in economic relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the agency’s contribution to finance the high-voltage power line project between Nouakchott and Nema, as a first step in a broader portfolio of projects financed by the agency in Mauritania, in addition to supporting the fishing sector.
