Ministry of Mines and Industry: Launching a New Digital Platform to follow up on Mining and Quarry Licenses
Nouakchott
The Ministry of Mines and Industry announced that a new digital platform is now operational, dedicated to following up and monitoring mining licenses and quarries, as part of enhancing transparency, improving data reliability, and streamlining administrative procedures.
In a memo on Sunday, a copy of which was received by the Mauritanian News Agency, it noted that this step comes in application of the provisions of the mining law related to the transfer of information and reporting of activities and expenditures, as well as administrative, technical, environmental and financial control.
Licensees will benefit from individualized and secure access to the platform, allowing them to:
-Enter technical and production data (BTR/BTE).
-Upload expense documents and update RSE procedures.
-Submitting administrative requests online, such as shipping samples, approvals, and various requests.
It called on all licensees to contact the competent regional teams of the Monitoring and Follow-up Department, or email contact-mmi@mmi.gov.mr, to obtain an access ID, password, and user manual.
The memo emphasized that data confidentiality is guaranteed under Article 59 of the Mining Law, and that the effectiveness of the system depends on regular and compliant use.
