Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Commerce and the World Food Programme

Today, Thursday, at the ministry’s headquarters in Nouakchott, Her Excellency the Minister of Trade and Tourism, Ms. Zeinab Ahmednah, signed a memorandum of understanding on food safety with the World Food Programme (WFP) Representative, Mr. Aliou Dieng.

 

This agreement seeks to strengthen the partnership between the program’s regional support team and the Ministry of Commerce and Tourism, define the general framework and objectives of this partnership, and outline areas of cooperation between the ministry and the program.

This agreement will contribute to enhancing opportunities for cooperation, coordination, and effectiveness in the trade sector through the Mauritanian Agency for Food Safety, with the aim of improving its operational effectiveness.

 

The agreement was signed in the presence of the Ministry’s Secretary-General, the Legal Advisor, the Director of Studies, Programming, and Cooperation, and the Director of the National Agency for Food Safety.
