Moroccan Embassy in Nouakchott organizes a Reception on the Occasion of the 26th Anniversary of the Throne Day

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Nouakchott organized a reception yesterday evening in Nouakchott to mark the 26th anniversary of the Throne Day.
The government was represented at the ceremony by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzough, the Minister of Trade and Tourism, Ms. Zeineb Ahmednah, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Mr. Yacoub Ould Moyne, Mr. Harouna Traoré, Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic, and Advisor to the Prime Minister in charge of Political Affairs, Ms. Hindou Mint Ainina.
The Moroccan ambassador to Mauritania, His Excellency Mr. Hamid Shabbar, said in a speech on the occasion that Mauritanian-Moroccan relations are distinguished fraternal relations based on bonds of brotherhood and kinship, as well as ties of religion, language, history, and a shared destiny.
He added that these relations are based on solid foundations of mutual respect and a sincere desire for fruitful and constructive cooperation. and draw their strength from the constant efforts of the leaders of both countries to chart promising prospects for a model partnership capable of addressing the challenges facing both countries in their regional and continental spheres and responding to the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.
He mentioned the level of development of economic and trade relations between the two countries, where Moroccan companies invest in several areas in Mauritania, including telecommunications, hydrocarbons, banking, cement, and construction materials, noting that there are other partnerships in the pipeline between Moroccan and Mauritanian economic actors in various fields such as energy, agriculture, mining, and industry.
The Moroccan ambassador highlighted the strong, active, and prominent presence of Mauritanian diplomacy, led by His Excellency President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, in international and regional forums, noting that this active presence culminated in Mauritania’s successful presidency of the African Union and the election of its candidate to the presidency of the African Development Bank.
The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador, Director General for Bilateral Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, Mr. Mohamed El-Henshi El-Kettab; the Ambassador, Director for the Arab World, Mr. Mohamed Lemine El-Beidh; the Ambassador Director of Protocol, Mr. Mohamed Diop Dioulde; the Governor of Nouakchott West, Mr. Mrabbih Rabou Bonnene Abidine; and a group of members of the diplomatic corps and representatives of international bodies and organizations accredited in Nouakchott.
