Third annual Shousha World Media Forum 2025 began today, Sunday, with the topic “Innovative Approaches: Media Literacy in the Digital Age”.

The session was opened by the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan, Head of the Department of Foreign Policy, Haji Heydarov, who delivered a speech highlighting the impact of artificial intelligence on the media, emphasising that “it is no longer possible to think of the media in isolation from technology”.
He also noted that traditional media, which we are accustomed to, is undergoing a transformation due to the development of digital technologies, saying: “If we used to discuss the impact of social media on traditional media, today we are discussing the impact of artificial intelligence on the media environment, which is a fact of life and a matter of discussion”.
The participants at the forum emphasised the importance of having an adequate media literacy and enhancing the ability to use modern technologies. They also emphasised the importance of helping people to distinguish between accurate and misleading information, and preventing manipulation and the spread of false information.
