Algeria, Mauritania discuss strengthening Cooperation in Pharmaceuticals, Organ Transplantation

A meeting was held on Tuesday at the premises of the Algerian Ministry of Health between the Chief of Staff of the Algerian Minister of Health, Mr. Hadj Maati, and the Director General of the Center for the Purchase of Medicines and Medical Supplies, Mr. Hamahallah El Sheikh, together with the President of the National Council for Donation, Transplantation and Culture of Organs and Human Tissues, Mr. Abdellatif Sidi Ali, in the presence of the Director of the Central Hospital Pharmacy in Algeria and the Director of the National Agency for Organ Transplantation in Algeria.
The meeting discussed mechanisms to enhance cooperation between the two brotherly countries in the fields of pharmaceuticals and organ transplantation, where the fruitful and constructive cooperation between the two countries was praised by both parties.
During a meeting with the management of INPHA-MÉDIS at its headquarters in Annaba, the delegation discussed the current situation of supplying the country with immunotherapy drugs for kidney transplant patients, where the two parties agreed on a program to ensure the provision of strategic reserves while taking the necessary measures to supply future batches in a timely manner.
During the visit, meetings were organized between the National Council for Donation, Transplantation and Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues, the Algerian National Organ Transplant Agency, the centralized procurement of medicines and medical supplies and the central pharmacy of hospitals in Algeria.
The meeting with the authorities in charge of supplying medicines led to the finalization of a bilateral cooperation agreement that provides for the exchange of experiences, missions and the provision of medicines in general, especially immunological medicines for kidney transplant recipients and some medicines for anthropology patients.
