Minister of Energy Receives Australian Aura Energy President

On 10 June, in Nouakchott, Mr. Mohamed Ould Khaled, the Minister of Energy and Oil and Acting Minister of the Economy and Finance, received Mr. Philippe Mitchell, the President of the Australian Aura Energy company, which operates a uranium deposit in the north-west of the country.

During the meeting, the Company’s President gave a detailed presentation on the progress of the project and the level of mobilization of the funds required for its implementation, underlining the efforts made to ensure compliance with agreed technical and environmental standards.

The meeting was part of the government’s close monitoring of the implementation of His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic’s program to develop the mining sector and enhance the attractiveness of investment in the country.
