On 29 May, in Algiers, Mr. El Fadhil Sidaty Ahmed Louly, the Minister of Fisheries and Maritime and Port Infrastructures, and Mr. Youssef Cherfa, the Algerian Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Fisheries, supervised the signing of the minutes of the Algerian-Mauritanian joint technical commission for the activation of the fisheries protocol between the two countries, signed in 2022, which grants Algeria fishing licenses in Mauritanian territorial waters.
The two sides also discussed the possibility of extending cooperation to aquaculture, shipbuilding and ship repair, scientific research, and the promotion of trade exchanges to raise them to the level of distinguished relations between the two countries.
