Mauritania participates in the Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) in Algiers

On Tuesday, Mauritania participated in the annual meetings of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), held in Algiers, with a high-level delegation headed by Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Sid’Ahmed Ould Bouh, with the participation of the Governor of the Central Bank of Mauritania, Mr. Mohamed Lamine Ould Dhehbi.
The participation of the Mauritanian delegation was characterized by an effective and prominent presence in the various events, Particularly in the African Group meeting and the Private Sector Forum 2025, which addressed vital topics, most notably the session “Promoting Trade and Investment within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC): Overcoming Barriers and Seizing Opportunities”, in addition to attending the Bank Group’s Private Sector Awards Ceremony.
The meetings saw the launch of an innovative online platform to promote South-South cooperation, which aims to connect countries and institutions according to their needs and specializations, while providing knowledge and advisory support from specialized centers and institutes in areas including energy, infrastructure and education.
A new agreement between Mauritania and the Islamic Development Bank is expected to be signed on Today, Wednesday, representing a new boost to bilateral cooperation and opening promising prospects for the country’s development plans.
It is worth mentioning that the Islamic Development Bank is a strategic partner for Mauritania, as it has contributed to financing important development projects in various fields, which has had a positive impact on supporting the national economy and improving basic services for citizens.
