Literary Union Organizes Literary Symposium

The Union of Mauritanian Writers and Writers hosted a session of its weekly seminar “Literature Café” at its headquarters in Nouakchott on Wednesday.

This week, the seminar was dedicated to presenting a reading of some of the works of writer and researcher Sheikh Mouaz Sidi Abdallah.

The Vice President of the Union, Mr. Cheikh Ould Ahmedou, introduced the seminar with a speech in which he expressed his happiness for this meeting that brings together a group of intellectuals and researchers, welcoming the author and the audience.

For his part, Mr. Cheikh Mouaz Sidi Abdallahi discussed the reasons for his choice of topics in his three books, and reviewed their contents and approaches.

After that, a group of academics and researchers took turns presenting readings of these works, sharing aspects of their treatment, and the seminar witnessed various interventions from the audience.

The symposium was attended by many university professors, intellectuals, artists, masters of the word, and those interested in cultural affairs.
