Human Rights Commissioner receives delegation from the ANNHRIs

The Commissioner for Human Rights, Humanitarian Action and Civil Society Relations, Mr. Sid Ahmed Ould Ely Benane, received on Wednesday in Nouakchott, a delegation from the Arab Network of National Human Rights Institutions (ANNHRIs), headed by Mr. Sultan Bin Hassan Al-Jamali, Secretary General of the Network.

During the meeting, the Commissioner appreciated the efforts undertaken by the Arab Network of National Human Rights Institutions in the field of promoting and protecting human rights in the Arab world.

In turn, the Secretary-General provided an overview of the organization’s initiatives aimed at establishing and enhancing the roles of national human rights institutions in Arab countries.

The discussion also explored opportunities for partnership and collaboration between the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and the Network, particularly within the framework of the Network’s five-year action plan for human rights.
