Minister of Economy and Finance Meets with Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency

The Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Sid’Ahmed Ould Bouh, met on Friday in Tokyo with the Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Mr. Ando Naoki
The meeting reviewed the joint cooperation relations between Mauritania and the IAEA, especially in the fields of fisheries, ocean research, vocational training, technical assistance and overcoming obstacles to the IAEA’s contribution to the financing of the Nouakchott-Nema high-voltage line.
The meeting also touched on the positive indicators of controlling public indebtedness and improving the public finance framework, paving the way for our country to benefit from the Japan International Cooperation Agency’s concessional financing mechanisms to finance development and job creation, in addition to discussing Japan’s preparations to hold the Ninth African Development Conference in Yokohama in August.
The meeting took place in the presence of our Ambassador to Tokyo, Mr. Sidiya Ould El Hadj, the Director General of the Investment Promotion Agency, Ms. Aissata Lam, the Director of Economic Cooperation, Mr. C. Mamadou, and Mauritania’s candidate for the African Development Bank presidency, Mr. Sidi Ould Tah.
