The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty and the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation signed on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, a memorandum of understanding related to the organization of the fourth International Mauritanian Dates Festival in 2025.
The Memorandum was signed on the Mauritanian side by Ahmed Salem Ould El Araby, Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, and on other side by Abdel Wahab Zayed, Secretary General of the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation.
The Memorandum was signed under the supervision of H.E. Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence of the United Arab Emirates and Chairman of the Award’s Trustees, on the sidelines of the 17th edition of the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation.
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Mr. Adama Barry, Technical Advisor to the Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty in charge of Plant Protection and Development of Agricultural Divisions, and Mohamedou Ould Mohamed Laghdhaf, Coordinator of the Oasis Development Project.
On Wednesday, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty participated in a special conference on international cooperation in the fight against the red weevil.
