President of the Nouakchott Region participates in the Euro-African Cooperation Summit on Adaptation to Climate Change

The President of the Nouakchott Region, Fatima Abdelmalek, participated in the Summit on Strengthening Euro–African Cooperation on Climate Change Adaptation, held in Marseille, France, from March 31 to April 1, 2025.
On Tuesday, the President supervised the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Arab Towns Organization and the International Association of Francophone Mayors, in the presence of the Secretary–General of the Organization and the President of the Association.
This agreement aims to strengthen the partnership between Arab cities and their European counterparts through the exchange of experiences and the implementation of development projects.
The President also participated in a radio programme on Radio France Internationale (RFI) alongside the Mayor of Cotonou (Benin), the former Minister of Environment of Benin, and the President and Director General of the French Research and Development Institute (IRD).
In the context of the Summit, the Madam President spoke at a seminar on mobilizing funds for Africa‘s adaptation to climate change, organized by the International Fund for Cities Development (FMDV).
On the sidelines of the summit, the President held several meetings with international personalities and bodies, with the aim of enhancing joint cooperation, before participating in the closing session of the summit.
