The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Promotion of Productive Sectors, Launches Monday in Nouakchott a series of workshops on food systems in Mauritania, in cooperation with the United Nations system.
During these four-day workshops, many innovative interventions will be introduced to enrich the global dialogue in the field of food systems. The discussions will essentially focus on the development priorities, challenges, and opportunities.
The Secretary-general of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Promotion of Productive Sectors, Mohamed El Moustapha aka Idoumou Ould Abdi Ould Jiyid, said that these workshops will be an opportunity for Mauritania to enlighten the world on the crucial issues related to nutrition, affirming that the president of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, devotes greater attention to the priority of food systems.
On her part, the resident coordinator of the World Food Program, Kinday Samba, declared that these workshops aim to unify efforts through joint coordination between the different sectors to overcome the development challenges, particularly those caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
