President of the Republic holds an Iftar Party in Honor of the Heads of Political Parties, Imams and Representatives of Civil Society Organizations

The President of the Republic, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, held on Thursday evening at one of the wings of the presidential palace in Nouakchott, an iftar in honor of the heads of national political formations, imams, deputies and representatives of civil society organizations.

The Iftar party was attended by the First Lady, Dr. Mariam Mohamed Vadel Dah, as well as the Prime Minister, Mokhtar Ould Diay, the President of the National Assembly, the President of the Constitutional Council, the President of the Democratic Opposition Foundation, the Minister Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Republic, the Minister in charge of the Office of the President of the Republic, the two Ministers Counsellors of the Presidency of the Republic, and members of the Government.

The party was also attended by officials and advisers in the Presidency of the Republic, the Prime Ministry, the governor of Nouakchott West, some military and security leaders, members of the diplomatic corps and representatives of international organizations and bodies accredited in Mauritania.

During the meeting, a number of imams presented a series of lectures on the virtues of the holy month of Ramadan and the high values it provides, and the behavior that a Muslim must enjoy according to the dictates of the Ramadan school of virtue values that call for brotherhood, love, cooperation and solidarity, and the role that everyone must play to promote peace and brotherhood among the various members of society.

In the first lecture, entitled “The Virtue of Ramadan”, Sheikh Ould Abbah Al-Hussein focused on the virtues of this blessed month, which is an opportunity to recite the Qur’an, and to give alms and charity to the poor and needy.

He pointed out that one of the virtues of this holy month is that it opens the gates of heaven, and the good deeds are multiplied, and the stumbling blocks are said, and the invitations are answered, and the grades are raised, and the bad deeds are forgiven, in addition to being the month of manumission and forgiveness, and a circumstance for the revelation of the Qur’an, in which sins are forgiven and in it the Night of Power, which is better than a thousand months.

He praised the Ramadan month of spreading Islamic sciences in its various fields, whether through the Ramadan kindergarten or through various other programs.

The jurist Ahmed Abdul Aziz Sy in the second lecture entitled: “Spending in Ramadan”, pointed out that this blessed month is the month of competition in good deeds and the supply of obedience, in which wages are magnified and grades are raised, and charity is one of the most important acts of worship that a Muslim should have a share of in this month, and it is in Ramadan better than in others, recalling the hadith: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was the finest of people and was the finest in Ramadan.”

He thanked the President of the Republic for the instructions given to help poor families and support mahdharas and mosques during this holy month.

In the third lecture, titled “Fraternity and its Role in Combating Class”, the jurist Ould Outhman focused on the importance of brotherhood in the cohesion and cohesion of society, noting that it is based on safety from harm, love, mercy and social solidarity.

He recalled the noble verses calling for the promotion of brotherhood and interdependence between the various classes of society, emphasizing that the only criterion of preference in Islam is piety.
