Minister of Fisheries: We are working on Developing a Maritime Transport Strategy and a Master Plan for Maritime and Port Infrastructure

The Minister of Fisheries, Maritime and Port Infrastructure, Mr. ElVadil Ould Sidaty Ould Ahmed Louly, stressed that his sector is working on developing a maritime transport strategy and a master plan for maritime and port infrastructure that takes into account the rapid development taking place in the field at the global level.

During the 14th International Conference (MARLOG 14), which concluded on Tuesday in the Egyptian city of Alexandria, the Minister gave a presentation on the national programs and policies adopted in this field, pointing out that a ministerial sector has been established for digital transformation, innovation and modernization of administration, and in line with the forward-looking vision of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, all ports are attached to one sector, in support of harmony and coherence, and to ensure the promotion of all activities of the national economy sectors.

He added that preparations are underway by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport to organize an international conference on artificial intelligence this year in Mauritania.

In his speech, the Minister of Fisheries praised the good organization of the conference, the excellence and quality of the scientific presentations presented in it, and other parallel activities organized on its sidelines.
