Fisheries Minister Meets With US Coast Guard Delegation

On 17 February, in Nouakchott, Mr. El Vadhil Ould Sidaty Ould Ahmed Louly, the Minister of Fisheries and Maritime and Port Infrastructures, received a delegation from the US Coast Guard, currently visiting our country, led by Mr. Scott Howland, Head of Capacity Building and Technical Assistance of the International Program for Ports in the Atlantic Region (IPPAR).

During the meeting, the two parties discussed prospects for strengthening seaport cooperation.

The American delegation is scheduled to visit the Autonomous Port of Nouadhibou, the mineral port of the National Mining and Industrial Company (SNIM), and the Autonomous Port of Nouakchott, known as the “Port of Friendship”.

It is worth mentioning that the US Coast Guard publishes an annual list of the world’s ports, which determines the safety and security percentage of each port.
