Islamic Minister receives the Chairman of GCERF

The Minister of Islamic Affairs and Original Education Mr. Sidi Yahya Cheikhna Lemrabott, received Mr. Stefano Manser Vesey, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF), on Monday morning at his office.
During the meeting, the GCERF Chairman briefed the Minister on the Fund’s experiences and examples of their interventions in several African countries, particularly our country. The Fund’s interventions included the states of Hodh El Gharbi, Assaba, and Guidimakha, through financing income-generating activities for the benefit of some residents of these areas, via four non-governmental organizations in our country.
The Chairman also informed the Minister about the ongoing preparations of the Fund to hold the regional conference of its working bodies in the capital, Nouakchott, scheduled for today under the supervision of the Minister of Islamic Affairs.
