President of the Republic decorates the President of the Commission of AU and several senior officials of the Union

The President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, decorated the outgoing Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, His Excellency Mr. Moussa Faki Mahamat, and a number of senior AU officials on Saturday evening at the Mauritanian Embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in recognition of their great efforts on behalf of Africa during his term as rotating Chairperson of the AU.

The President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, decorated His Excellency Mr. Moussa Faki Mahamat with a medal in the rank of Commander of the Mauritanian National Order of Merit, and awarded the following officials with the rank of Officer of the National Order of Merit:

– Prof. Mohamed El Hacen Lebat, Director of Cabinet of the President of the African Union Commission,

– Mr. Albert Mudenda Muchanga, Commissioner for the Economy, Development, Trade, Tourism, Industry and Minerals.

– Ms Josefa L. Sako. Commissioner for Agriculture, Rural Development, the Blue Economy and the Sustainable Environment.

– Mr Jean Kaseya, Director General of the African Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa-CDC).
