On 22 January, in Nouakchott, Mr. Sidi Yahya Cheikhna Lemrabott, the Minister of Islamic Affairs and Original Education, received a delegation from the High Council of Imams, Mosques, and Islamic Affairs of the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire, led by its Executive Secretary Daoud Kone.
During the meeting, the Minister welcomed the Ivorian delegation, underlining the strength of the historic relations between the two countries, the two governments, and the two peoples, while congratulating H.E. Mr. Alassane Ouattara, the President of the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire, on being awarded the Prize of Promotion of Peace in Africa 2025.
The Minister stressed that the friendly relations between the Presidents of the two countries, H.E. Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani and H.E. Mr. Alassane Ouattra, have contributed to the consolidation of fruitful ties of cooperation between the two brotherly people.
The Minister welcomed the signing of the memorandum of understanding between his department and the Ivorian High Council, highlighting the Ministry’s commitment to implement its provisions.
