The President of the Republic oversees the opening of the Fifth Forum of the African Conference for the Promotion of Peace

The President of the Republic, Mohamed Ould Cheikh EL Ghazouani, supervised, on Tuesday at the International Conference Centre (Al-Mourabitoun) in Nouakchott, the opening of the activities of the fifth forum of the African Conference for the Promotion of Peace.

The three-day conference, organized in partnership between the Mauritanian government and the Abu Dhabi Peace Forum, will be held under the theme: “The African continent: the duty of dialogue and the importance of reconciliation”.

The forum, which will be attended by dozens of scientists, sheikhs, intellectuals, researchers, representatives of civil society organizations, and youth and women’s activists from different countries of the African continent and the world, will witness the organization of scientific sessions and intellectual seminars that discuss topics and concerns in search of the best approaches to achieve peace and tranquility for the continent and the world.

These sessions will address “The Current Situation in Africa and the Need for a Culture of Dialogue”, “Rooting Dialogue”, “Rooting Reconciliation and Reconciliation” as a Civilizational Heritage, Intellectual Approaches and Field Initiatives, Education on the Values of Dialogue, Africa and Artificial Intelligence. A new horizon in building peace and promoting dialogue, the problems of asylum and migration and the challenges of peace in Africa, in addition to the Women and Youth Summit: Immunization and Empowerment.

In his keynote speech, the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Peace Forum, Sheikh Abdullah bin Bayyah, thanked His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, and the Mauritanian government for the generous sponsorship of this conference and all its previous editions, and for his support, assistance and support for peace efforts in the world and in Africa, especially through his presidency of the African Union.

The forum was opened in the presence of  the Prime Minister, Mokhtar Ould Djay, the President of the National Assembly, the Minister Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Republic, the Minister in charge of the Office of the President of the Republic, the Minister Counsellor of the Presidency of the Republic, members of the Government, the Governor of Nouakchott West, the President of the Nouakchott Region, the Mayor of the Municipality of Tafragh Zeina, some military and security leaders, and members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Mauritania.
