Saudi Medical Delegation Performs Heart Surgeries for Children in Nouakchott

The Minister of Health, Mr. Sidi Ould Zahaf, and the Saudi Ambassador to Mauritania, HE Mr. Houzaa Ben Zeben Ben Dhawi El Matari, visited the national center for cardiovascular diseases in the Western Nouakchott region.

This visit has enabled the minister and the accompanying delegation to see closely the works of the Saudi medical delegation that is currently visiting Mauritania to perform surgeries and cardiac catheterization for a group of children.

The minister of health thanked, in a statement, the medical teams which are carrying out this campaign, the Association of Islamic Cooperation, and the Islamic Cooperation Organization, and King Salman Aid and Relief Center for supporting such campaigns.

He praised the role played by King Salman Aid and Relief Center and thanked the Saudi government and people for this significant humanitarian action.

On his part, the Saudi Ambassador stressed that this campaign comes in response to the desire of the countries’ leaders to develop bilateral relations, pointing out that this campaign consists of two parts: the first of which is related to performing open-heart surgeries and cardiac catheterization; the second part is devoted to the training of the medical staffs in countries benefitting from this campaign.
