On 13 January, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic and Chairman of the African Union, welcomed Lieutenant-General Abdel Vettah Abderrahmane al-Burhan, the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of the Republic of Sudan, who is paying a friendly working visit to Mauritania, as he stepped off his plane at Nouakchott’s ”Oumtounsi” International Airport.
The President of the Republic, Chairman of the African Union, was surrounded by Prime Minister El Moctar Ould Djay, Mr. Nani Ould Chrougha, the Minister in Charge of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic, HE the Ambassador of Mauritania accredited to Sudan, the Chief of the Special Staff of the President of the Republic, the Wali of Nouakchott West, and the Vice President of the Nouakchott Region.
After reviewing the formations that had come to pay them honor, His Excellency the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of the Republic of Sudan greeted MP Mohamed Bamba Meguett, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Mr. Diallo Mamadou Bathia, the President of the Constitutional Council, Mr. Moulay Ould Mohamed Laghdaf, the Minister, Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Abdellahi Ould Outhman, the Minister Counselor at the Presidency of the Republic, Ms. Aichata Ba Yahya, the Minister Advisor at the Presidency of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud Cheikh Abdullah Ould Boya, the Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, Mr. Hanenna Ould Sidi, the Minister of Defense, Retirees, and Children of Martyrs, Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Ould Mohamed Lemine, the Minister of Interior, Promotion of Decentralization, and Local Development, and Mr. Mahfoudh Ould Brahim, an Advisor at the Presidency of the Republic.
For his part, the President of the Republic greeted the members of the Sudanese delegation accompanying His Excellency President Abdel Fattah Abderrahmane al-Burhan.
Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani held private talks with his host in the VIP lounge of the Presidential Suite at Nouakchott International Airport.
