The Minister of the Interior, Decentralization and Local Development, Mohamed Ahmed Ould Mohamed Lemine, met on Thursday with an important delegation from the European Union, headed by H.E. Mr. Jozef Sikela, Commissioner for International Partnerships of the European Union.
During the meeting, Minister highlighted Mauritania’s vision for dealing with the situation of migrants and refugees, and the great efforts implemented by the Ministry of the Interior, Decentralization Promotion and Local Development in this field.
For his part, the European envoy appreciated the concrete steps taken by our country in the field of migration and asylum challenges and stressed his delegation’s interest in embodying the various aspects of support for our country in the field, within the framework of the partnership and opportunities and prospects for cooperation between our country and the European Union.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary-General of the Ministry, Mr. Abderrahmane Ould El Hassan, the Ambassador of our country in Brussels, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Ibrahim kahlil, Mr. Cheikh Ould M’haimd. Advisor in charge of Communication and Mr. Zayed Lathan Ould Val Mou, Director General of the Regional Administration.
