President of Senegal begins Working Visit to Mauritania

Nouakchott, 10 December 2024, HE President of the Republic of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, started on Tuesday morning a working visit to Mauritania, to participate in the African Union Continental Conference on Education, Youth and Training for Employment, hosted by Nouakchott from 9 to 11 December 2024.

The Prime Minister Mokhtar Ould Diay was the first to receive the Senegalese guest at the Nouakchott International Airport, along with the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff, the Ambassador of Mauritania to Senegal, the Governor of Nouakchott West, the Vice President of the Nouakchott Region, and the Senegalese Ambassador to Mauritania.

After reviewing the formations of the guard of honour, the Senegalese President shook hands with the Ministers of Justice; Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad; Defence, Retired Persons and Children of Martyrs; Interior, Promotion of Decentralisation and Local Development, and the Minister in charge of the General Secretariat of the Government.

HE President of the Republic of Senegal was also received by members of the Senegalese Mission in Mauritania.

The Prime Minister Mokhtar Ould Diay held private talks with HE the President of the Republic of Senegal at the Presidential Suite at Nouakchott International Airport.
