Algerian President Begins Working Visit to Mauritania

On 9 December, His Excellency Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, began a working visit to Mauritania to take part in the African Union’s Continental Conference on Education, Youth, and Employability, held in Nouakchott from 9 to 11 December 2024.

His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani, the President of the Republic and Chairman of the African Union, welcomed his Algerian guest, accompanied by the Prime Minister, Mr. Mokhtar Ould Diay, the Minister in charge of the Office of the President of the Republic, the Mauritanian Ambassador to Algeria, the Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic, the Wali of Nouakchott West and the Vice President of the Nouakchott Region.

After reviewing the formations of the ceremony of honor, the Algerian President shook hands with the Minister Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, the Minister Counselors at the Presidency of the Republic, and the Ministers of Justice, Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, Mauritanians Abroad, and National Defense, Retirees, and Children of Martyrs.

For his part, the President of the Republic shook hands with the members of the Algerian delegation accompanying His Excellency President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

Mr Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani and his Algerian counterpart had a private meeting in the VIP lounge of the presidential suite at Nouakchott International Airport.
