Minister of Social Action Receives UNICEF Delegation

On 15 November, in Nouakchott, Ms. Savia Mint Ntahah, the Minister of Social Action, Children, and Family, received a delegation from the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Mauritania led by Mr. Doudou Lumbia, its Deputy Resident Representative in our country.

During the meeting, the Minister heard a presentation on the national strategy for promoting people with disabilities, prepared with the technical support of UNICEF, including themes, orientations, objectives, and the preparation process.

During the strategy preparation process, the Department, in cooperation with UNICEF, organized several workshops attended by stakeholders and people interested in promoting people with disabilities.

The strategy was presented to the National Multisectoral Council for the Promotion of People with Disabilities for approval at its regular session on 14 November.
