Minister of Culture participates in the Opening ceremony of the Sharjah International Book Fair and the Launch of the Arabic Language Historical Dictionary

The minister of Culture, Arts, Communication and Relations with Parliament, Mr. El Houssein Ould Medou, participated on Wednesday in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, in the opening ceremony of the Sharjah International Book Fair and the launch of the Historical Dictionary of the Arabic Language.

The opening ceremony of the 43rd Sharjah Book Fair was held under the supervision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the Federation and Ruler of Sharjah, in the presence of many literary and scientific figures.

The opening ceremony was marked by the Sharjah Ruler announcing the completion of the 127-volume Historical Dictionary of the Arabic Language, as well as the launch of the Arabic Encyclopedia of Sciences, Literature and Arts.

The opening ceremony also honored the heads of linguistic councils in the Arab world.

During the opening ceremony, the Minister was accompanied by the Chargé d’affaires a.i. of the Embassy of our country in the UAE, HE Mohammed Al Mahboubi.

The Sharjah International Fair brings together more than 2,520 publishers from 112 countries, offering more than 1,357 events over the course of 12 days, in addition to a variety of books and modern literary works.
