On 6 November, in Paris, Mr. El Houssein Ould Medou, the Minister of Culture, Arts, Communication, and Relations with Parliament, government spokesperson, discussed with Mr. Audrey Azoulay, the Director General of the UN Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), ways of strengthening bilateral cultural relations.
During the meeting, the Minister presented the reality of Mauritania’s rich heritage and the interest of the high authorities in preserving, conserving, promoting, and classifying it as world heritage.
The two parties also discussed ways of strengthening cultural cooperation between our country and this UN organization, notably in conserving and classifying Mauritanian heritage and preserving archaeological and historical sites in Mauritania.
