Expert meetings prepared for the 13th session of the Mauritanian-Senegalese Joint High Commission for Cooperation Kick off

– The expert meetings prepared for the thirteenth session of the Mauritanian-Senegalese Joint High Commission for Cooperation kicked off Monday morning at the Diplomatic Academy in Nouakchott.
The program of these meetings included a review of a number of cooperation agreements between the two brotherly countries, which cover various development fields, to review them before signing them during the meeting of the Supreme Committee to be held tomorrow in Nouakchott.
At the opening of the Committee, Ambassador Mohamed El Hanachi, Director of Bilateral Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, welcomed the delegation of Senegalese experts participating in this meeting, stressing that Mauritania and Senegal are brotherly countries linked by a common destiny based on history, geography and religion.
Bilateral cooperation meetings and ministerial committee meetings constituted distinct frameworks for enhancing bilateral cooperation by reviewing sectors that would enhance such cooperation.
He stressed that the recommendations reached by the meeting will contribute to strengthening the excellent relations of brotherhood and friendship that unite the two brotherly countries.
He added that during this meeting, the draft minutes and draft cooperation agreements in areas such as fishing, energy, transport, higher education, livestock, trade, digitization, finance and others will be studied.
For his part, Ambassador and Director of Africa and the African Union at the Senegalese Ministry of African Integration and Foreign Affairs, Mr. Stefan Sylvain Sambo, expressed his deep gratitude to the Mauritanian authorities for the warm reception, hospitality and many facilities provided to the Senegalese delegation since its arrival in this beautiful city of Nouakchott.
On behalf of the members of the Senegalese delegation, he stressed the commitment of his country and the various departments and technical structures represented at the session to make a positive contribution to the continuous building and strengthening of bilateral cooperation relations between the two countries.
Mauritania and Senegal have long enjoyed strong, fraternal and friendly relations of cooperation, supported by a rich legal framework consisting of many agreements and concrete actions that will be evaluated during this meeting, he said.
Today’s meeting demonstrates the excellent relations and mutual trust between our two countries, as well as the common and ever-growing desire of the higher authorities of the two countries to further strengthen this mutually beneficial partnership.
He said that our authorities and peoples attach great importance to the permanent strengthening of friendly relations and fraternal cooperation, stressing that these meetings prepared for the thirteenth session of the Joint Committee for Bilateral Cooperation will be an opportunity to advance the strategic partnership between our two countries in all areas of common interest.
He stressed the commitment of the two countries to continue moving forward within the framework of the synergy of nations through the gradual and beneficial development of excellent cooperation, the enormous and unexplored potential of which gives hope for a better future for our two countries and above all for our brotherly peoples.
The opening of the meeting was attended by the ambassadors of the two countries, a number of officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and representatives of various sectors concerned in Mauritania and Senegal.
