Mauritania participates in the Seafood Exhibition Held in Vico, Kingdom of Spain

Mauritania participated for the second time in the Conxemar International Seafood Exhibition held in Vico, Spain, in its 25th session, organized from 1 to 3 October 2024.

This event is part of the national programs and efforts to increase the national presence of national marine products and promote them in major global forums and markets, to enhance the presence of our exports in this important region, which attracts more than 50% of Mauritania’s exports of various marine species, and it also embodies the strategy of the fishing sector and maritime and port infrastructure.

This national participation was organized by the Mauritanian Fish Marketing Company (SMCP) and actors in the fishing sector and the marine economy, represented by the Federation of Fisheries Exporters, Distributors and Aggregators (FPMEDC) and the National Fisheries Federation (FNP).

Mauritania’s participation in the International Seafood Exhibition witnessed a distinguished turnout of visitors, reviewers and researchers for national products, and the Mauritanian pavilion covered an area of up to 170 square meters, and enjoyed three facades characterized by national emblems and paintings expressing our products in terms of types, specifications and numbers.

Finally, we note that the opening ceremony was marked by the visit of the Spanish Minister of Fisheries accompanied by a large number of businessmen and interested parties, where explanations were given to him about the distinguished Mauritanian participation this year, which moved from 35 m2 to 170 m2, and the Spanish delegation expressed its appreciation for the distinguished Mauritanian participation this year, which undoubtedly reflects the strength of relations between the two friendly countries.

The Ministry of Fisheries and Marine and Port Infrastructure was represented at the event by Mr. Cheikh Maelainin Ahmeden, Assistant Director of the Department of Product Development and Valorization, while the Mauritanian Fish Marketing Company was represented by Messrs. Mohamed El Mami Bouhoubeini, Yahya Abbas and Othman Ould Bouh, and FPMEDC by its President, Mr. Mustafa Mohamed Mahmoud, and FNP by its Assistant Secretary General, Mr. Ahmed Ould Khabah, in addition to approximately Twenty actors and producers.
