Geneva.. Mauritania participates in International Conference on Resilience Against Desertification

Geneva

Our country participated on Tuesday in Geneva, the capital of Switzerland, in the work of the International Conference on Resilience against Desertification with a delegation from the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development headed by its Secretary-General, Mr. Moulay Brahim Ould Moulay Brahim.

The conference was devoted to a ten-year assessment of drought risk management.

The conference brings together international advocates to mark the outcome of a decade of drought control and a roadmap for strengthening international climate resilience.

The strategic dimension of this conference lies in the development of new mechanisms of cooperation and resource mobilization, where participants called for giving priority to drought control on the global agenda and directing current interventions towards the rapid effects of climate change.
