Prime Minister chairs Meeting with Externally-funded Development Programmes Coordinators

The Prime Minister Mokhtar Ould Diay chaired a meeting on Thursday, with the coordinators of externally-funded development programmes as part of the effective monitoring of the implementation of national development projects, and on the direct instructions of H.E. President of the Republic Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani.

In his special address to the participants, the Prime Minister stressed the need to step up the pace of implementation of the projects entrusted to them, in order to ensure that the objectives are achieved and that the results are commensurate with the resources mobilized.

He recalled the low level of implementation of some of these projects and the imbalances that can no longer be tolerated given the administrative and procedural facilities granted and the resources allocated for their implementation, insisting that it is time to remedy this situation.

At the end of the meeting, the Prime Minister instructed the coordinators of the development programmes to present a rapid result, as the deadlines no longer allow for complacency.

It is therefore up to the sectors involved to take charge of the control, monitoring and weekly evaluation of the level of execution, given the urgency of these projects and programmes due to their importance and their direct impact on the lives of the population.

Mentioning that Under the new approach, the government will rely on close monitoring of the various programmes within very short timescales in order to track performance improvement indicators and progress in the physical and financial implementation of the various components of these programmes.
