A number of ministers declare their assets to the Committee for Financial Transparency in Public Life

On Thursday at the Palace of Justice in Nouakchott,A number of government members submitted their asset declarations to the Committee for Financial Transparency in Public Life, headed by the President of the Supreme Court, Mr. Cheikh Ahmed Ould Sid’Ahmed, Chairman of the Committee.
Mr. El Moustafa Ould Sid’emmou, the Committee’s rapporteur secretary, received the declarations of Minister of Defense, Affairs of Retired Persons and Children of Martyrs, Mr. Hananeh Ould Sidi, Minister of Islamic Affairs and Original Education, Mr. Sidi Yahia Ould Cheikhna Ould Lamrabet, Minister of Health, Mr. Abdallah Ould Wadih, Minister of Mines and Industry, Mr. Thiam El Tidjani, Minister of Housing, Urbanization and Territorial Reclamation, Mr. Mamoudou Mamadou Niang, Minister of Water and Sanitation, Ms. Amal Bint Mouloud, and Minister Delegate to the Minister of Interior, Decentralization and Local Development in charge of Decentralization and Local Development Yacoub Ould Salem Vall.
The General Delegate for National Solidarity and the Fight Against Exclusion (TAAZOUR), Mr. Cheikh Abdallah Badha, the Commissioner for Human Rights, Humanitarian Action and Relations with Civil Society, Mr. Sid Ahmed Ely Banane, and the Commissioner for Food Security, Ms. Fatima bint Mahfoudh Ould Khattry, also presented today at the Palace of Justice, their asset declarations to the Committee for Financial Transparency in Public Life, chaired by its Chairman, Mr. Cheikh Ahmed Ould Sidi Ahmed, President of the Supreme Court.
This measure comes in implementation of Law 2007/54 of September 18, 2007 on financial transparency in public life, which stipulates that the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister, members of the government, holders of high offices and other officials must declare their assets to the Committee for Financial Transparency in Public Life.
