Minister of Economy Holds Talks With World Bank Director of Development Policy, Partnerships

On 26 July, Mr. Abdessalam Ould Mohamed Saleh, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, held talks with Mr. Axel van Trotsenburg, the World Bank Group Managing Director for Policy Development and Partnerships.

The meeting focused on Mauritania’s cooperative relations with this major global financial institution and ways to strengthen them, particularly those related to economic and development issues.

The two parties also discussed Mauritania’s role as Chair of the African Union in encouraging countries and organizations to mobilize significant financial resources to enable IDA to play its role in financing sustainable development in developing countries, particularly in Africa.
