President of Republic, President-Elect, Receives Congratulatory Message From French Counterpart

On 5 July, His Excellency Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, President-elect, received a message of congratulations from His Excellency Emanuel Macron, the President of the French Republic, on the occasion of his re-election to the presidency of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania for a new term.

The message reads as follows:

” Mr. President,

At a time when the results of the 29 June elections are definitively proclaimed, I want to congratulate you warmly for your re-election to the Presidency of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and transmit to you to all Mauritanians my sincere wishes of success.

By showing you their confidence in the first round, the Mauritanian people have confirmed their unequivocal support for the project you carry for Mauritania.

I would like to ensure my full availability to continue working with you to strengthen our bilateral partnership, up to the old and privileged links that unite our two countries.

France remains, particularly, mobilized with Mauritania to contribute to its economic prosperity and support its determined action in favor of regional stability, whether it is a question of defending the rule of law or fighting against the expansion of the terrorist threat. Please accept, Mr. President, the assurance of my highest consideration.
