Mauritania signs the Roadmap for the Mediterranean Union’s Prevention, Preparedness and Response Program for Disaster Risk Reduction

On Wednesday in Noordwijk, the General Delegate for Civil Security and Crisis Management, Major General Aboulmali Hadi Sidi Ould Amar signed, in the Netherlands, the 2024-2026 roadmap for the Mediterranean Union Program for Prevention, Preparedness and Response for Disaster Risk Reduction (PPRD MED) in our country, during the second meeting of the steering committee of the EU-funded program.

This came during the second meeting of the steering committee of the EU-funded program known as “PPRD MED”.

The plan aims to increase the operational capabilities of the Directorate, through training in the use of new technologies, especially space technologies in civil protection activities, and to enhance bilateral cooperation between our country and other EU member states in various fields, especially the experiences of some Arab countries, such as Tunisia, Jordan and Lebanon, in the field of volunteering in civil protection.

This meeting was an opportunity for the General Delegate to discuss with some heads of delegations participating in this forum, in order to deepen bilateral cooperation relations in the field of training, especially with the Algerian brothers, led by the Director General of Civil Protection in the brotherly State of Algeria.

It is noteworthy that the forum included an official visit to the European Space Agency.
