The Embassy of Mauritania to the Kingdom of Spain organized, on Wednesday morning, at its headquarters in Madrid, a ceremony on the occasion of the African Day
The ceremony was marked by a speech by Ambassador HE. Zeinebou Mint Ely Salem, in which she reviewed the content of the speech of His Excellency the President of the Republic, current Chairperson of the African Union, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani, on this occasion, stressing his willingness to find solutions to the continent’s problems.
The dean of the African diplomatic corps in Madrid also delivered a speech in which he praised the speech of the President of the Republic who “demonstrated a great awareness of the continent’s problems and the vision of a leader who has contributed and will contribute significantly to moving the continent on the right path”.
In the same context, on the occasion of Africa Day, the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, Jose Manuel Alvarez, organized, on Thursday, a working meeting with African ambassadors accredited in Madrid, during which he expressed Spain’s wish to intensify cooperation with Africa to achieve common aspirations and objectives such as prosperity, security and social justice, as well as to advocate – globally – for a sustainable future.
In the same order, the Africa House Foundation in Madrid organized a seminar attended by Mr. Diego Martinez Bello, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of Spain, to discuss issues of common interest and the importance of the continent for the Kingdom of Spain.
