Mauritanian Ambassador to Iceland presents Credentials

HE, Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Brahim Khlil presented, on Tuesday in Reykjavik, his credentials to Icelandic President The Icelandic President Guðni Thorlacius Jóhannesson, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Full Power of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to Iceland residing in Brussels.

Following the presentation of the credentials, the Icelandic President singled out our country’s ambassador for a meeting during which they exchanged views on the prospects for bilateral cooperation and ways to enhance it, as well as the situation in the Sahel region.

During the meeting, HE the Ambassador conveyed to the Icelandic President the greetings of HE President of the Republic Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, and briefed him on Mauritania’s efforts in combating terrorism and illegal immigration.

For his part, President Judni Johansson conveyed his greetings to His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani.

He also expressed appreciation for Mauritania’s efforts to combat illegal immigration and terrorism, stressing his country’s desire to strengthen cooperation with Mauritania in all fields.
